BSP declares candidate for Udhampur-Doda LS seat

JAMMU, Sept  30: Bahujan Samaj Party today declared its party candidates  for  Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha  seat and Raipur-Domana Assembly constituency today.
Addressing a press conference here today, national general secretary of the party and incharge J&K, HP and Punjab, Narender Kashyap  (Rajya Sabha MP) said that in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections the party has also geared up its activities in the Jammu and Kashmir. While some of the candidates for assembly seats in Jammu region have already been declared by the party, the candidates for the remaining seats are also being declared shortly.
He declared that for  Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat the party has finalized the name of Dharma Pal Bargotra while for Raipur-Domana Assembly constituency- Bihari Lal. The names have been finalized by the Party president Kumari Mayawati. Mr Kashyap further claimed that party was discussing and examining the names of other candidates for the remaining seats in Jammu region  and the party has made up mind to contest all the 37 seats in Jammu region and no decision about Kashmir and Ladakh region has been taken so far.
Referring to the terrorist attack at Hiranagar Police Station and Army camp at Samba, the BSP leader described it as a major security lapse and alleged that both Central and State Governments can not absolve themselves of the responsibility. He demanded a probe into the whole episode by a sitting judge of High Court. At the same time he demanded that Indian Prime Minister should give a loud and clear message to Pakistani Prime Minister that no such non-sense would be tolerated as these terrorists are being launched from the Pakistani soil.
The BSP leader also sought a high level inquiry into the revelations made by a top retired Army General regarding payment of money to the J&K ministers and said that people of the country should be made aware of the real facts, as they are contributing for the taxes and it is public money which is being spent on the forces and other developmental projects.
Besides, State coordinator Gurnam Choudhary, State president Tulsi Dass Langeh, vice president R L Charogotra, R K Bhagat, K L Thappa and others were also present.
