JAMMU, Aug 13: A Jawan of Border Security Force (BSF) was today shot dead by his colleague, when the duo exchanged heated words over an issue at a forward post along International Border(IB) in Arnia sector.
“The injured Jawan identified as Rakesh Kumar was immediately rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu but there he was declared as brought dead by the doctors,” official sources said.
They said Rakesh, the jawan of 192 Battalion, had received bullet injures below his shoulder. “There was exchange of words between two jawans at a forward Nikowal Post in Arnia Sector this evening”.
Sources said one of the Jawans namely Hira Lal fired with his INSAS service weapon at his colleague namely Rakesh Kumar, who succumbed.
“The jawan, who opened the fire, has been arrested and handed over to the police,” sources said adding that enquiry has been initiated into the matter.
