Brig Chatterjee is new MH Jammu Commandant

JAMMU, Nov 9: Brig Tathagata Chatterjee, a dedicated and astute Molecular Hematologist with impeccable professional competence, assumed the command of prestigious and busiest Military Hospital of Satwari Cantt, Jammu recently.
Immediately after assuming the command, the Commandant met senior officers of the hospital and interacted with them on his first day in the office. Various specialist doctors briefed him about the present condition of the hospital.
Before assuming the present appointment he has served in various prestigious hospitals of Indian Armed Forces including Army Hospital (R & R) Delhi Cantonment as Professor of Pathology and Haematology  and Armed Forces Medical College, Pune as Professor and HoD of Pathology and Transfusion Medicine.
Born in Pune, Brig Chatterjee joined the Army Medical Corps. He is an alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College Pune and AIIMS, New Delhi. He is a DM in Haematology  from AIIMS and trained in Molecular Haematology from St Jude’s Children Cancer Hospital, USA. Brig Chatterjee is a Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS) and fellow of the International Union for Cancer Control (FUICC).
On assuming the charge, Brig Chatterjee said his main focus would be on the patient care and availability of medicines with the best modern facilities available in MH. He said that extending facilities to ex-serviceman would also be a priority.
