Brahman Sabha demands financial package for priests

JAMMU, May 27: Dogra Brahman Pratnidhi Sabha Jammu today appealed to the J&K Lt Governor to announce financial assistance package for the priests, those performing religious rituals, scholars, poor workers of temples and all religious places as they are having many difficulties due to COVID-19 pandemic.
In a joint statement, issued here today, DBPS President Ved Parkash Sharma said that all the religious places are closed due to lockdown and there are no religious functions, rituals due to which this category of people has been hit hard with financial strains. He urged the LG to grant financial package to this category of society so that they could get sigh of relief from rising prices and lockdown.
Signatories to the joint statement, included Advocate PC Sharma, Subash Shastri, V N Magotra, Satyanand Sharma, Sat Pal Sharma, Romesh Sharma, Gurdas Sharma, B S Jamwal, Sunil Sharma, Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma, Jagan Nath, Shiv Ram, Prem Balotra, Som Nath, Jialal, Raman Sharma and several other members of the Sabha.
