Poonch, May 27: MGNREGA Employees Association Jammu Province has urged the Govt of J&K UT to resolve the long pending demand of the MGNREGA employees with regard to absorption/ regularization against vacant posts in Rural Development Department.
In a press statement, vice president of the Association, Lal Hussain said that employee working under MGNREGA are still waiting for their regularization. They have been working without job security and other incentives for the last 14 years as a result of which, employees working under MGNREGA are in mental trauma.
Highly qualified youth working under the scheme in Rural Development Department are still waiting for regularization despite the fact that these employees are working in the department since 2005. The issue is genuine and need early redressel by the Govt as these employees not only provided support to the department but have also worked hard for about 18 sectors of the department. Their services were being utilized by the department in each and every scheme like PMAY, SBM, 14 FC, CD Pyt. BLO Duties, Election duties and Covid-19 etc.
The whole leadership of MGNREGA Employees Association under the leadership of president, Sayed Jaffar persuaded their genuine case before Govt and RDD, submitted proposal in 2018 regarding observation but unfortunately the final approval is sill gathering dust in civil secretariat.
Association urged upon the Govt and made an appeal to the Lt Governor of JK UT and Chief Secretary to have a sympathetic looks towards this genuine issue by issuing formal orders for regularization against available vacant vacancies in RDD.
