Brahma Kumaries celebrate Shivratri

KATHUA, Feb 17: The Brahma Kumaries Ishwariya Viswa Vidyalaya, Kabir Nagar, Kathua today celebrated Shivratri festival with religious fervor and gaity.
The programme started with unfurling of Lord Shiva’s flag by Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Managing Director of J&K SC, ST, BC Development Corporation who was the chief guest on the occasion.
Shashi Didi, Inchrarge Kabir Nagar Branch of Brahma Kumaries Ishwariya Viswa Vidyalaya said that they started Shivratri celebrations about one week in advance and the functions are celebrated throughout the week in different Sewa Kendras of the Sanstha.
Santosh Didi, Incharge Billawar centre of the Sanstha elaborated on the significance of the day. She apprised that the real motive of man is to lead simple and virtuous life.
A colourful programme was presented by children on the occasion through various skits, songs, short drama and dance presentations highlighting the significance of ShivRatri. B.K Shub Kumar dwelt at length on the aims and objectives of the Sanstha and how various activities are carried out by the Sanstha to promote communal harmony and universal brotherhood.
A cake cutting ceremony was perfomed. The distinguished guests present on the occasion included Bishan Bharti, President Arya Samaj Kathua, Gian Singh Pathania, President Ex-Serviceman Association, Swami Ji and Dr Tilak Raj.
A large number of devotees were present on the occasion who were served Brahma Bhojan on the occasion.
