POONCH, July 13: A minor boy belonging to Gujjar community killed his elder brother as his father’s 0.12 bore went off accidentally at family Dhok in upper reaches of Mandi area in district Poonch today.
Reports reaching here said the mishap took place when younger brother Abdul Rehman, of deceased Umar Gul (13), son of Aziz-ul-Haq of Hari Marote was fiddling with the gun at the Dhok in Jabbi Dhoti area of Mandi. As the gun was loaded, it suddenly went off. It caused serious injuries to Gul.
The injured was rushed to district hospital Poonch but he succumbed to injuries due to excessive bleeding on the way. He had sustained injuries in lower portion of his belly. CMO Poonch, Dr Mohd Yunis said the boy could have been saved had the family provided him first-aid at the nearby hospital in Mandi area.
The police registered a case in this connection and seized the gun. Further investigation was in progress.
