KATHUA, Aug 22: A seven year old child drowned in Kathua canal here this evening.
The boy was identified as Bishen Choudhary, son of Kuldeep Choudhary of Ward 16. He had gone to take a bath along with other child in the Kathua canal this evening and later did not return home.
After his family members went to search him and enquired from the boy who was accompanying him, they were informed that he drowned in the canal. His colleague said that he tried his best to save him but could not do due to strong current of water.
The administration has stopped the water of the canal to search the boy tomorrow morning.
Kathua Police has registered a case in this regard.
