Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 72 cattle rescued, 3 arrested

RAMBAN, May 11: Ramsoo police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 72 cattle and arresting three smugglers.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Ramsoo Police Station laid a naka and intercepted three trucks bearing registration numbers JK02BS-2624, JK02CA-7157 and JK14D-3771.
During checking, police team rescued 72 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested three smugglers, who were identified as Zakir Ahmad of Anantnag, Din Mohammad of Kathua and Mohammad Farooq of Rajouri.
Cases under FIR Numbers 36/2020, 37/2020 and 38/2020 under Section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramsoo DySP (Prob) Dr Sumit Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Ashish Gupta, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rahman.
