POONCH, May 11: A jawan of 6 JAKLI died due to lighting in Sawjian sub sector of Mandi near the Line of Control this afternoon.
Identified as Mohd Asif, originally a resident of village Bhata Dhurian in Mendhar, he was deployed with 40 RR in Sawjian sub sector near the Line of Control. It was raining in the area with thunder storm, The lightning struck him killing on the spot.
He was immediately rushed to Army Hospital where he was declared as brought dead. Body of deceased was send to his native place after performing legal formalities.
