Bovines smuggling bids foiled

JAMMU, Aug 18: Jhajjar Kotli and Bagh-e-Bahu Police foiled bovines smuggling bids.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar during checking at Suketar intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AE-1686.
During checking, police team rescued 12 bovine animals from the truck and arrested the driver, who was identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Hashim Din of Bhajmasta District Ramban, at present Niki Tawi Belicharana District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 203/2022 under Sections 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act and 50/52/54/56 Transportation of Animals of Rules of 1978 has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu led by SHO Inspector Sikander Singh under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari laid a naka near Narwal, rescued 14 bovine animals and arrested one person who was identified as Gharu Ram, son of Karam Chand, a resident of Chak Mohd Yaar RS Pura District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 82/2022 under Sections 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and investigation initiated.
