Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 50 cattle rescued, 4 arrested

JAMMU, Mar 19: Nagrota and Batote Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 50 cattle and arresting four persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing Registration Number JK02BL-7986.
During checking, police team rescued four bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Abdul Wahid, son of Ghulam Abbas of Sidhra District Jammu.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation initiated.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Batote laid nakas in different areas and intercepted three persons carrying flock of bovine animals.
During questioning, the persons failed to give satisfactory reply regarding movement of the cattle and police arrested them. From their possession, police rescued 46 cattle.
The arrested persons were identified as Sadam Hussain, son of Abdul Gani of District Doda, Mohammad Mustafa, son of Hussain of Kunfer Tehsil Chanderkote District Ramban and Shah Jahan, son of Abdul Rashid of Upper Jakher District Udhampur.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Batote and investigation started.
The arrest was made by SHO Batote Inspector Ranjeet Rao under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Rajinder Chib, Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
