RAMBAN, Feb 15: Batote, Jawahar Tunnel, Ind, Ramsoo, Chanderkote and Ramban Police foiled bovines smuggling bids.
As per police sources, teams from Police Station Batote, Police Post Jawahar Tunnel, Police Station Ramsoo, Police Station Chanderkote and Police Station Ramban laid check points in their respective jurisdictions and intercepted six Kashmir bound vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 42 bovine animals and seized all the six vehicles and arrested four cattle smugglers, who were identified as Shahzad Hussain of Nagam Banihal District Ramban, Nayeem Ahmed of Ludra, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, Anwar Mohammad of Domail, Jhajjar Kotli, Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu and Manzoor Ahmed of Pernote, Chandi Morh, District Ramban.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Ind rescued five bovine animals which were being smuggled to Kashmir on foot by the cattle smugglers, who managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Batote, Banihal, Ramsoo, Chanderkote, Ramban and Gool Police Stations and investigation started.
The cattle smuggling bids were foiled under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) Ramban Mohita Sharma.
