Bovines smuggling bids foiled , 37 cattle rescued

RAJOURI, June 3: The police parties foiled four attempts of some anti-social elements to smuggle bovine animals and rescued 37 cattle during early hours today in Rajouri district.
Official sources said that a police party from Chityar-Chingus on specific information intercepted smugglers moving on-foot along with 15 bovine animals along a Nallah during wee hours today for loading bovines in vehicles for further transportation to Kashmir. On seeing police party led by PSI Sahil Choudhary three smugglers managed to escape towards nearby forest. The police seized all the 15 cattle and registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, Dharamsal police party during a nakka seized a Tata Mobile vehicle ( No JK11E/0621) coming from Bhamla side via Ranthal and rescued eight bovine animals. The driver of the vehicle along with two others managed to dodge police and escaped from the site.
Kalakote police during Nakas at Potha and another place intercepted two Tata mobile vehicles bearing registration numbers JK11E/ 5172 and JK11B/8588 around 3.40 am. While drivers of the vehicles managed to escape taking advantage of darkness, the police seized vehicles and rescued 14 cattle tied and loaded mercilessly in both the vehicles. Two separate FIRs were registered in this connection at Kalakote Police Station.
