Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 25 cattle rescued, 2 arrested

JAMMU, May 9: Nagrota and Sidhra police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 25 cattle and arresting two smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania laid a naka and intercepted a truck.
On search, police team rescued 12 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Majid Khan, son of Lal Khan of District Anantnag and Mulkh Raj, son of Faqir Chand of Chak Mohammad Yaar, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
Meanwhile, a team from Sidhra Police Post led by SI Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday laid a naka and intercepted a truck.
During checking, police team rescued 13 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it, while the accused managed to escape from the spot.
Case under relevant sections have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
