KATHUA, Apr 4: Lakhanpur Police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 20 cattle and arrested two persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Lakhanpur led by SHO Inspector Sumit Sharma and assisted by PSI Swarn Singh Manhas along with other police officials laid a naka and intercepted a Jammu bound truck bearing registration number UK06CB-2153.
During checking, police team rescued 20 cattle from the truck and arrested two persons, who were identified as Rifaqat Ali, son of Riyasat Ali and Toseem, son of Shabir, both residents of UP.
A case under FIR Number 51/2021 under Sections 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and investigation started.
