Bovine smuggling foiled

REASI, June 27: Reasi police foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued seven bovines.
“Police post Dhansal received an information from its reliable source that one person namely Abdul Rashid son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Judda, is carrying bovines on foot towards Kashmir and has reached Dugga,” a police official said.
He said acting swiftly, a police party led by Head Constable Nishat Ahmed along with police personnel from police post Dhansal rushed to the spot but after seeing the police party, the accused while taking advantage of dense forest fled from the spot leaving behind the bovine animals.
In this regard, a case under relevant section stands registered at police station Arnas and further investigation is going on.
