RAJOURI, May 15: The police foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued eight bovines in far flung Methyani Gala forest area of Teryath in tehsil Kalakote.
Reports said a police team headed by Incharge Police Post, Teryath, SI Habib Pathan was on routine patrolling when a smuggler was spotted carrying bovines by foot in hill top after which police team acted swiftly and launched an operation.
Sensing police movement, bovine smuggler fled from the spot leaving behind eight bovines which were rescued from the spot.
Police has started search to identify and nab the bovine smuggler while a case under relevant sections of law including 188, 295-A RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station, Dharamsal.
