Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 13 animals rescued

SAMBA, Dec 3: District Police Samba once again succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 13 bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information about bovine smuggling, a police party of Police Station, Ghagwal headed by SHO Ghagwal, Inspector, Sudhir Sadotra under the supervision of Tilak Raj Bhardwaj, Dy.SP Headquarters Samba, during routine vehicle checking at Naka NHW Tapyal, intercepted one Canter bearing Registration No. JK08G-5852, which was coming from Kathua side and put it to sustained checking.
During checking of the vehicle 13 bovines were found laden inside it which were being transported illegally. All the bovines were rescued and the vehicle used for illegal transportation was also seized on the spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 108/2019 U/S 188 IPC, 2/11 PC Act, stands registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started to nab the driver.
