Border firing victims to get relief

NEW DELHI, Apr 28:

Government is considering a proposal to grant compensation to the next of kin of those killed in cross-firing in  border areas, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
Replying to queries over issues related to terrorism and separatists’ activities in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister of State for Home  Kiren Rijiju  said presently families of those killed in communal riots get compensation, but now a proposal for granting compensation to cross-firing victim families was pending  before the Government.
During Question Hour, he said, “We are putting all efforts to manage borders effectively,” adding that during 2014-15, 80 foreign trained terrorists were eliminated.   As many as 222 incidents of terrorism were reported in Jammu and Kashmir during  2014 and 32 cases till April 19 this year, he said.
”We are working in coordination with newly installed State Government,” the Minister added. (UNI)
