Bootlegger, narco smuggler arrested

JAMMU, Jan 10: Bishnah police arrested a bootlegger and a narcotic smuggler.
As per police sources, a team from Bishnah police station during patrolling conducted a surprise raid at village Kotli Charkan.
During the raid, police arrested a bootlegger, who has been identified as Mangal Dass, son of Sardari Lal, a resident of Kotli Charkan, tehsil Bishnah. On checking, police recovered 30 litres of illicit liquor and on his further disclosure 100 litres of lahan was also recovered which was destroyed on spot.
A case under FIR Number 8/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at Bishnah police station and investigation of the case is going on.
Meanwhile, Bishnah police also arrested a narcotic smuggler along with 20 kilograms of poppy straw from village Bhatyari.
The accused has been identified as Yash Paul, son of Dina Nath, a resident of Bhatyari, tehsil Bishnah.
A case under FIR Number 10/16 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at police station Bishnah and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah police station Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
