SAMBA, Sept 23: Intensifying its drive against the sale of illicit liquor, district Police Samba arrested a bootlegger and recovered 26 bottles of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of PS Ramgarh.
Acting on reliable information regarding the sale of illicit liquor at Barota-Camp, Ramgarh, a police party of PS Ramgarh rushed to the spot and arrested one person namely Chhaju Ram, S/o Sukh Ram of Keso Manhasan at present, Barota Camp, Ramgarh who was running a Chicken Shop in the area and selling illicit liquor to the general public in his shop at exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit.
During search, a total 26 bottles of illicit liquor {01 bottle of 750 ml (OB Whisky), 05 bottles of 250 ml each & 20 bottles of 180 ml (JK Special Whisky)} were recovered from the shop.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 97/2020 U/S 48 (f) Excise Act has been registered at PS Ramgarh and further investigation started.
