SAMBA, Aug 28: District police Samba arrested a bootlegger and recovered 12 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur today.
A police party of PS Vijaypur while performing routine patrolling duty in Vijaypur area, intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration Number, JK21E-5699 at Gurah Morh which was coming from Jakh side and moving towards Vijaypur.
Police said that during the checking of the motorcyclist, a total of 12 bottles of JK Desi Whisky of 375 ml each were recovered. The accused person identified as Danish, S/o Yasin R/o Lamba Kheda, Rampur, Uttar Pardesh at present Rariyaan, Vijaypur has been arrested on spot and contraband item was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 150/2020 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
