Boosting electrification

Now, the government has come out with a proposal of hundred per cent rural electrification during 2012-17 Five Year Plan for the State. This plan is partly to be undertaken under Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutkaran Yojana (RGGVY) Phase-II scheme it is a good news. Every household in the State has a right to be the beneficiary of electrification. The scheme also proposes that for rural families falling below poverty line the Centre will meet hundred per cent expenditure and no burden on that count will be placed on the State Government. We know that the Centre has been providing funds for various requirements leading to generating and supply of hydroelectric power in the State. This is to help the State overcome power crisis. But we also know that many schemes connected with bringing efficiency in production, transmission and supply of power in the State have not recorded desired success. We are raising this question just to convey to the Government that the public have many reservations in accepting the exciting announcements of the Government. There has to be something on the ground that will convince the people.
