JAMMU, June 12: The Writers’ Group ‘Qalamkaar’ here today released three books ‘Life is a Journey’, ‘Jammu’s Creative Canvas’ and ‘Other Side of The Border’ written by Canada based litterateur Yog ‘Rahi’ Gupta at a function organized at Writer’s Club.
Padma Shri Dr. Jatinder Udhampuri was chief guest while Dr. Sucheta Pathania, Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Jammu presided over the function.
Ashok Angurana (Retd. IAS) and Shailender Singh, SSP Railways, Jammu were guests of honour and Anupam Srivastava, Head of ‘B4U Overseas’ was special guest.
Anu Atri ‘Yaad’, president of Qalamkaar Group also shared the presidium.
Welcome address was delivered by Varun Veer, general secretary Qalamkaar Group and the proceedings were conducted by Sunita Kumari, coordinator Qalamkaar Group. Vote of thanks was presented by Anu Atri ‘Yaad’.
Living in Canada for more than four decades, Yog Rahi Gupta had a desire to release his books at Jammu and chose ‘Qalamkaar: The Writers’ Group for this purpose as last year he got his poetry collection ‘Shikast-e-Aarzoo’ published and released through ‘Qalamkaar Group’.
Papers were presented on Yog Rahi’s books by Shah Nawaz Choudhary, Editor of Gojri section, JKAACL and by Shailender Singh.
After the book release event a beautiful Gazal singing programme was organized by Qalamkaar Group.
The Ghazals were presented by famous Ghazal singer Dharmesh Nargotra who composed and sang Yog Rahi Gupta’s Ghazals from his book ‘Shikast-e-Aarzoo’.
