KISHTWAR, Apr 20: Police today fished out body of a middle-aged man from Chenab river near Payas Padarna Area, falling under the jurisdiction of Kishtwar police station.
As per police sources, some passerby noticed a body floating in river Chenab near Payas Padarna area and informed the police.
After getting information, a team from Kishtwar police station rushed to the spot and divers were pressed in to fish out the body.
The body was retrieved from the river Chenab and after completing legal formalities, it was handed over to family members for last rites.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Amin (50), son of Mutoo Bakarwal, a resident of Payas Padarna. He committed suicide by jumping into river Chenab last month.
A case in this regard has been registered at Kishtwar police station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
