Body of PoK native exhumed, sent back

RAJOURI, Feb 12: The district authorities Rajouri today exhumed the dead body of a PoK guest from the grave after more than six months at Kampla village in Nowshera area of Rajouri district.
Station House Officer, Nowshera, Mohd Amin Malik said that the body of the PoK native, Irshad Ahmad (30), son of Mohd Shabir, resident of Kotli Gujjran in PoK was exhumed today following the Magisterial orders.

“The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad, had ordered the exhumation. The orders followed after Pakistan Army authorities had taken up the matter with counterparts. The legal process for acquiring the body initially started after the family of the deceased approached authorities in PoK.
Civil and police officials, including Tehsildar, Additional SP Nowshera, SHO concerned and a team of doctors were also present on the spot, he said.
The body after exhumation was handed over to Army authorities for further transportation to his native village via Chakan da Bagh in cross LoC point in Poonch.
He further said that Irshad Ahmed had come from PoK to meet his relatives in Rajouri during July 2019. He received serious electric shocks at relative’s house at Kampla and died. Later, his relatives performed burial. The family members wished to perform his last rites at his birth place in Kotli (PoK).
