RAMBAN, Feb 19: Police has fished out the dead body of a man from river Chenab in Seri area of Ramban today.
Police sources informed that a floating body was noticed by some passersby and they informed cops after which the Police and volunteers reached the spot and fished out the body and shifted it to the mortuary of District Hospital Ramban for identification.
Later on Police identified the deceased as Ravinder Singh, son of Late Mahinder Singh, resident of Srangsoo, Anantnag who had jumped into Chenab on January 14, 2024 at Karool.
SHO Police Station Ramban, Inspector Vijay Kotwal said after conducting post-mortem and other legal formalities the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
