Body exhumed in Thanna Mandi

RAJOURI, Aug 17:  A team of civil administration and police led by Magistrate (Tehsildar) Sunil Kumar, exhumed the dead body of villager Mohd Shafi who was allegedly murdered and his dead body buried in Dera Gali area by the assailants.
The team comprising SDPO Thanna  Mandi Raj Kumar, SHO Haji Bashir and  a team of doctors besides family members  reached the spot today and unearthed the body on the clue provided by the two arrested persons. An election identity card was recovered from the grave and his identity was established by his family members. Later, the family performed the last rites as per their religion and rituals.
The blind murder of villager Mohd Shafi, son of Bahadur Ali of Morha Kayian (Pangali), who was missing since August 17, 2003, has been worked out  with the arrest of two persons. The accused persons detained by police confessed that the body of missing Mohd Shafi, has been buried in the forest near Dera Gali on Mughal Road.
The clue of the murder of  Mohd Shafi was received by his wife Hakim Bi from a woman, who told that Shafi has been done to death and his body buried in Dera Ki Gali area. Mohd Shafi went missing on 17-8-2003 and family had lodged a missing report on June 30 at Thanna  Mandi. However, the file was closed by police due to unknown reasons.
The woman after receiving this information, approached SHO Thanna Mandi and DySP concerned. As the police did not take any action, the woman along with some family members met DIG and narrated whole incident. The DIG constituted a special team led by DySP Operations and they picked up two persons namely Abdul Ghani and Abdul Rashid son of Mir Mohd of Pangali and placed them under sustained interrogation. Both broke before police and admitted that body has been buried at a place near Dera Ki Gali. They also identified the place.
