BLSKS, STAP organize workshop on Duggar culture

JAMMU, Dec 17: To promote the rich traditional culture of the State, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) organized workshop on Duggar Traditional Culture at Basohli and at Jammu in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and Sangam Tru Art Production for young generation.
The programe was inaugurated by the chief guest VK Magotra while Dr Tara Singh Charak was the guest of honour. V K Magotra informed that he will be conducting workshop on Duggar culture in history through songs and dances etc, first of its kind to preserve the rich culture of the State and also said that BLSKS will be staging such plays in all parts of the state to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama.
Sangan True Arts Production (STAP) also presented cultural programs on “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” in coordination with Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting GOI and Office of the ICDS Department of J&K in indentified block of Basoli at Govt Model Higher Secondary School, Basoli. Special program on “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” was also staged at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Basholi.
In addition to the above the artiste of STAP & BLSKS also covered the villages like Jandrote, Saman, Baralla, Prehta and Patti. Speaking on the occasion chief guest lauded the role of Sangam Tru Art Production & Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan. Dr Tara Singh Charak also spoke on the subject and also urged the artists/cultural organizations to contribute in enriching awareness of the cultural heritage of the country.
Welcoming the dignitaries Chairman, BLSKS explained aims & objectives of the programme which have been assigned to the Sansthan for betterment of society. In his key note address he highlighted the various aspects of play.
The singers, musician and actors who performed were Usha Handoo, Hem Raj, M C Kotwal, Rajni Gupta, Rahul Raina, Gauri Lal, Raju Bajgal, K K Joshi, Kumla, Rajni, Ali Mohd, Babu Din, Kuldeep Raj, Sunil Kumar and Deepak Kumar.
The workshop coordinator Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
