UDHAMPUR, Oct 30: With the arrest of accused, the Tikri police claimed to have solved a blind murder case.
Official sources said that on Oct 20, 2022, Police party from Tikri, during patrolling on National Highway noticed one male dead body lying in Mand area (near Prince Cafeteria). The body was identified as that of Amit Gupta, son of Kuldeep Kumar, resident of W.No 15, Shakti Nagar, Udhampur.
On this inquest proceeding U/S 174 CrPC was initiated. During investigation, police team from Police Post Tikri headed by PSI Abdul Satar under the supervision SHO Rehmbal detained some suspects and during the sustained questioning, one of them namely Tarun Sharma, son of . Dev Raj, resident of Mand confessed that he had murdered the deceased over some money dispute.
The inquest proceeding was converted into murder and case vide FIR No. 248/2022. The accused person has also been arrested and further investigation initiated.
