REASI, Mar 15: With the arrest of accused, Reasi Police has solved blind murder case of a 14- year Bakerwal boy Mohd Muzzamal, who was found hanging from a tree at Pouni, last month.
The arrested accused, identified as Manzoor Ahmed (22), son of Mohd Sadik of Kothian, has confessed his crime and disclosed that he strangulated the deceased after a tiff over some petty issue and then hanged his body from a tree.
The deceased, namely Mohd Muzzamal, son of Mohd Bashir of Bharakh Mohalla Alia, Tehsil Pouni, was found hanging from a tree in forest area on February 21 under suspicious circumstances. Eye witnesses narrated that the body was hanging from the tree but his feet were touching grounds.
Suspecting some foul play, SHO Pouni, Insp Rajesh Gautam initiated inquest proceeding under Section 174 CrPC and during investigation rounded up some suspects, including the accused Manzoor Ahmed who broke down and confessed his involvement.
Later the inquest proceeding was converted into FIR number 11, 2021, under Section 302 IPC. The investigation was conducted by SHO Pouni under the supervision of Addl SP Surjeet Bhagat.
