JAMMU, Aug 29: Reiterating its resolve to free the people of J&K from the dynastic parties whom it blamed for looting the resources of the erstwhile State over seven decades, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today made it clear that its fight against the three dynastic parties will continue and it will make every effort to keep them away from coming to power in the UT of J&K in the coming elections.
This was stated by party national general secretary and Incharge J&K and Ladakh UTs, Tarun Chug who held a day long deliberations with the district Core Group members of the party along with BJP Seh Prabhari, Aashish Sood, party J&K president, Ravinder Raina and general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul here, today.
Later talking to this reporter, both Chug and Sood said that BJP wanted to save J&K from the three dynastic parties who promoted corruption and nepotism in the erstwhile State during their seven decades rule.
The J&K is marching on the path of development, peace and trust created by the Government of PM Narendra Modi and party will strive hard to bring people of the UT out of the mess created by the misrule of dynastic parties, said Tarun Chug.
He said today the meeting of Core Committees of eight districts was held in which deliberations were held on future programmes of the party and strengthening the booths all over the UT. Accusing the leaders of Gupkar Alliance of playing a role of Khalnaik (villain) Chug said the Alliance has been totally rejected by the people of J&K.
Maintaining that both National Conference of Dr Farooq Abdullah and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Mehbooba Mufti are losing the public support on ground, Ashish Sood said both the parties have been rejected by the people of J&K. They are now relying on Pakistan and often advocating of holding talks with neighboring country.
Their role has now become irrelevant he said, adding, both the parties exploited people of J&K for 70 long years and were responsible for turmoil and militancy in J&K. It was because of their wrong policies that militancy gained foothold in the J&K and BJP will take on them forcefully to erode their base, Sood added.
Exuding the confidence that BJP will form the next Government in J&K, he said the party is always in election mood and has started exercise of strengthening booths by holding meetings and party programmes all over the UT. “We are going for booth rationalisation”, Sood said. “We are rationalising our organization in accordance with delimitation of constituencies and party national leaders are coordinating with UT leadership and workers in this regard”.
On the resignation of senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad from the party, he said it is the internal matter of the Congress but BJP is not dependent on any body’s support. “To make any comment on future plans of Azad will be premature and let us see how he will go to people and BJP is not worried what he gets but we have to concentrate on our party as we are confident to form the next Government in J&K”, he added.
Sood said the BJP is getting good response of masses in the UT and the recent Ghar -Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan has proved it as people gave an overwhelming response to it especially in Kashmir valley.
Expressing his solidarity with Valmiki Samaj who were brought in J&K during late fifties by the then State Government, Sood said BJP is committed to grant voting rights to them. “Those who oppose grant of voting rights to them are the enemies of democracy”. He regretted that Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president, Mayawati who came many times to J&K and who is claiming to be the leader of downtrodden never spoke about the rights of these people. “It is only BJP which took up their cause right from fifties and the party is committed to seek justice for them”, he added.
Former DyCM Dr Nirmal Singh, vice-president Shakti Raj Parihar, general secretaries Sunil Sharma, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal and other senior party leaders addressed series of meetings held at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Senior party leaders from districts of Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda, Kathua besides Billawar, RS Pura and Samba participated in series of Core Group meetings.
Ravinder Raina focused on the need of exemplary work by the BJP workers. He said that the party activists need to multiply their efforts to further strengthen the party at grassroot level. He said that the party activists have to work within the masses so as the malicious campaign initiated by certain selfish political parties can be countered effectively.
Ashok Koul sought the details of various organizational and political programmes undertaken by the party leaders in their respective districts.
