JAMMU, Oct 3: District Congress Committee President Vikram Malhotra today said that BJP leaders’ assurance on job and land protection to people of the State is virtual admission of the insecurity.
While addressing the monthly meeting of the DCC here today, Mr Malhotra exhorted upon the party workers to stand united and foil the nefarious designs of the ruling BJP and the local Government of misleading the people of Jammu into believing that the recent actions of the Union Government of depriving the people of their statehood and reducing it to a union territory is for the betterment of Jammuites, especially the Dogras.
“The recent statement of senior BJP leader Ram Madhav is an indication that the insecurity of the common man is palpable and BJP is feeling the heat now and is trying to reassure the people that both their domicile rights and jobs would be protected,” he added.
Mr Malhotra added that the Congress party fully supports the Government in its endeavour to ban single use plastic but the same should not be done in a hasty manner and adequate time must be provided to the manufacturers and traders to switch over to alternative source of earning their livelihood.
