SRINAGAR: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), a coalition partner in Jammu and Kashimr Government with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), today demanded stern action against Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik for allegedly slapping a police officer when he was arrested on June 4 at Maisuma.
The BJP members raised the issue at the onset of day’s, sitting as the chair tried to take up Question-Hour. “We want to know what action has been taken against the JKLF chairman who slapped a police officer on June 4 at Maisuma when he was arrested,” the BJP members said. They said this is a very serious issue and government should take action against Malik.
Police arrested him on June 4 and booked him in a case registered against him in 1987 for organising a rally.
There was a scuffle when Malik, who was surrounded by his supporters, was arrested. (AGENCIES)
