BJP Unit, LAHDC Councilors submit memorandum to Ministers

LEH, Apr 8: A delegation comprising of members of BJP Unit Leh and Councilors, LAHDC, Leh met Minister for IT, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports and Minister for Public Works (R&B) and Floriculture and submitted memorandums.
In a memorandum submitted to Minister for IT, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports Imran Raza Ansari, the delegation demanded filling up of vacant posts in Government Polytechnic at Leh with introduction of electric engineering course, creation of posts in respect of physical education teacher in Department of Youth Services and Sports, improvement of playgrounds in schools of Leh district, opening of branch office of Sports Council to impart scientific training properly and development of modern techniques and special activities of information technologies should be introduced in all sub divisional and block headquarters.
Meanwhile, the delegation also submitted a memorandum of demands to Minister for Public Works (R&B) and Floriculture Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari. The demands projected in the memorandum included upgradation of existing special sub division (PWD) Nyoma, Nobra and Khaltsi to full-fledged working division status, posting of AEE, AE and JEs in PWD Circle Leh, arrangement of availability of key construction materials like cement, steel and asphalt and other controlled items and enhancement of maintenance grant and wages under Non Plan Budget.
The delegation also demanded completion of Karey bridge over Indus by way of manufacturing and launching of superstructure, completion of foot bridge at Pharka Himya by way of launching of superstructure, completion of tuna bridge by way of launching of superstructure, completion of Stakna bridge by way of launching of superstructure, completion and launching of superstructure of Lehdi bridge over Indus, completion of one side abutment and launching of superstructure of Palam bridge at Agling and construction of road to Achinathang Loungba submitted under NABARD.
Minister gave patient hearing to the demands highlighted by the delegation and assured an early redressal.
