Party workers, people asked to illuminate houses, unfurl Tricolour

KATHUA, Aug 4: Highlighting the importance of August 5 in the history of country ,BJP today said that it is not less than Deepawali for the party and nationalist people of India as all the barriers and impediments in total integration of J&K with Indian Union have been removed on this day by Narendra Modi led Government at Centre.

Party held a review meeting at its Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar here, today regarding celebration of August 5 under the chairmanship of its J&K UT president, Ravinder Raina. The meeting thoroughly discussed the programme regarding the celebrations tomorrow. It among others was attended by former State president of the party, Sat Sharma (CA) former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta, general secretary (org), JK UT BJP, Ashok Kaul, vice presidents, Yudhvir Sethi, Ashok Gupta, All Morchas Incharge, Munish Sharma and party office secretary, Tilak Raj Gupta .
Addressing the meeting Ravinder Raina instructed all the party leaders to strictly adhere to every single SOPs and guidelines issued by the Government and other health agencies while celebrating the first year of abrogation of Article 370 and 35 (A) tomorrow. He appealed the party workers to avoid the gatherings but hoist the Tricolors on their house tops. He also appealed the people to express their joyous feelings by celebrating the event in their houses by lighting Swadeshi lights and Diyas. He said Tringa will also be prominently hoisted at Kathua , Samba and other places of historical relevance, especially those places which remained as Centre of Praja Parishad Andolan.
Former BJP president, Sat Sharma has also appealed the social and religious organizations to unfurl the National Flag at the rooftops of their respective Sabhas and illuminate them befitting the occasion. Terming the August 5 a great Day in the history of country he recalled the sacrifice of Praja Parishad Movement martyrs and volunteers. Sat met representatives of Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Vishwakarma Sabha and other organizations and highlighted the significance of the day. He said on this day last year dream of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, Deen Dayal Upadhayay, former Jan Sangh presidents, Atal Behari Vajpayee former PM and Pt Prem Nath Dogra, Praja Parishad leader and former president of Jana Sangh has come true.
On the eve of first anniversary of abrogation of controversial Article 370 and 35 (A) BJP MP and senior leader Jugal Kishore Sharma along with his team honoured the Praja Parishad revolutionaries at their residences. The Praja Parishad warriors and senior citizens shared their experiences observed during the movement in 1952 and 1953.
He visited Gandhi Nagar and Talab Tillo and honoured the Praja Parishad revolutionaries there. He said Praja Parishad played a great role by taking on the divisive forces in J&K and worked for the total integration of the erstwhile State with Indian Union. Many of its volunteers laid down their lives for this great cause, he added.
Former MLC and senior BJP leader Vikram Randhawa , Kulbushan Mahotra, RamanSuri also accompanied Jugal Kishore Sharma during honouring of revolutionaries.
BJP leaders Raman Suri and Balbir Ram Rattan party spokesperson have also appealed the people to celebrate the day in befitting manner. Balbir said that with the abrogation of 370 and 35 (A) 70 year long discrimination has ended with the West Pak refugees and Valmiki Samaj who belonged to the downtrodden communities. He said these people were subjected to discrimination and injustice by the then National Conference and Congress Governments who still are misleading the people on the name of 370.
He said the attitude of these parties showed that they were never in favour of the rights of poor and down-trodden people which, is revealed by their oft repeated statements opposing the abrogation of 370 and 35 (A).
Placing on record his appreciation over the neutralization of divisive Article 370, its abrogation and separate J&K Constitution, creation of UT of Ladakh and conversion of the leftover J&K also into UT, Ikkjutt Jammu chairman, advocate Ankur Sharma today urged one and all in Jammu to celebrate august 5 as a day of deliverance.
He in a statement said August 5, 2019 constituted the victory of the nationalists over the seditionists and communal forces and a great setback for the Kashmir’s regressive leadership.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) president, Kundan Kashmiri has also termed the abrogation of Article 370 a great achievement of Narendra Modi Government. He said with its abrogation a great Constitutional anomaly has ended with the people of J&K.
He lambasted at those parties who are still misleading people over the Article 370 and cautioned them not to ear these parties and celebrate the day in a befitting manner tomorrow.
