JAMMU, Apr 8: Former Union Minister and president JKPCC Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz addressed a largely attended gathering at Marh today on the last day for campaigning in Jammu Parliamentary constituency.
He was accompanied by Rajni Patil (MP), general secretary AICC, Raman Bhalla, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and sports, Indu Pawar (MLA) president State Mahila Congress; Shameema Raina, Farooq Andrabi general secretaries PCC, Lal Mohammad Sabir-Ex-Minister, Neeraj Gupta, Ashwani Puri, Santosh Magotra secretaries.
On this occasion Prof. Soz expressed satisfaction that NC-INC coalition had remained steadfast in the Parliamentary elections and worked hard for success of Ghulam Nabi Azad and Madan Lal Sharma in Jammu province and similarly INC would work resolutely for three NC candidates in Kashmir.
Prof Soz explained to the gathering in detail that the manifesto issued by the BJP, long last, was nothing short of spreading falsehood. Giving an example of the falsehood of BJP, Prof. Soz emphasized the fact that building of Ram temple, abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution of India and Common Civil Code had been mentioned in all the manifestoes during the last twenty (20) years, but BJP had failed to take any action in this behalf.
It was falsehood then and it is falsehood today. He reminded the gathering that the BJP was in power at the centre for more than six years, and they did not do any thing to achieve this goal.
He assured the people that the Congress Party had fulfilled many promises such as incorporation of 73rd Amendment in the Panchayat Act of the State, package for settlement of refugees and Jatts, one rank one pension for ex-servicemen and many such things and assured them further that it would serve their best interests in future.
Rajni Patil expressed her satisfaction that Congress party was a strong secular force and this party alone could promote unity and integrity of India. She also expressed satisfaction that Congress Party had become a viable political force in the state in recent years and appealed for vote and support for Madan Lal Sharma.
Raman Bhalla explained in detail how Congress Party had served the cause of people in recent years. He also told the people of Marh who are mostly farmers that it was Congress Party which had worked hard and the Coalition Government had setup the Kissan Board in the state. He asserted that the Congress Party alone had the talent to serve the people best.
Indu Pawar (MLA) also spoke on the occasion.
