BJP sold Jammu’s mandate for power lust: Harshdev

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Mar 28:  Accusing the BJP of bartering away the pride and honour of people of Jammu region for the  lust for power,  chairman of JKNPP and former Minister Hashdev Singh today made a forceful appeal to the Jammuites to oppose, expose and depose the BJP for its sheer opportunism.
Addressing public gathering at Shatrairi (Majalta) today Mr Singh said that BJP which got overwhelming mandate from Jammu region on the slogan of demolishing the father-daughter Party (Baap-Beti Sarkar) fell flat before the PDP immediately after winning 25 seats from Jammu region. Now they have used the office of PM, Union Finance Minister and other Central leaders to prevail upon the ‘daughter’ to assume the charge of Chief Minister so that its leaders could enjoy ministerial berths in her cabinet.
The NPP leader further said that the 10 months rule of BJP was a sordid tale of failures and betrayals with none of its elected representatives raking up the promised issues of Jammu region. He said that even at the present juncture, PDP was dictating terms for Govt formation despite the ‘Agenda of Alliance’ weighing heavily in favour of Kashmir.
Accusing BJP of having sold its every single slogan and its fundamentals for power,  Harshdev said that the Saffron Party had proved that greed knows no bars and no red lines. He further expressed dismay that while the BJP was opposing and demonizing the well wishers of Afzal Guru in Delhi and elsewhere, it was shamelessly exhibiting its passion and fondness  in Kashmir for Meahbooba Mufti and PDP who were also avowed supporters of Afzal Guru.
He claimed that NPP is the only regional party which has been fighting for the cause of  Dogras. He said that Delhi and Kashmir based parties are not the solution to the discrimination doled out to the people of the region and maintained that NPP has vowed to regain the pride and honour of the Dogras at all costs.
