Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, along with spokespersons Purnima Sharma and Balbir Ram Rattan, Gupta reaffirmed that J&K was, is, and will always remain an integral part of India.
Gupta criticized Pakistan for diverting attention from its severe political and economic crisis by raising false claims on Kashmir. He urged Pakistan to focus on addressing grave human rights violations in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan, where people are consistently denied basic rights. He further highlighted that Pakistan remains the epicenter of global militancy, harboring groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen.
He emphasized that the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A on August 5, 2019, was a historic decision that led to remarkable development in J&K. Since then, the region has witnessed rapid infrastructure growth, increased investments, record-breaking tourism, and greater democratic participation. Gupta also cited the successful hosting of the G-20 Summit in Srinagar as proof of J&K’s transformation, stating that the international community’s participation demonstrated global recognition of the region’s stability and progress under India’s governance.
The BJP leader further pointed out that the recently concluded Lok Sabha and J&K Assembly elections were conducted peacefully, with high voter turnout and enthusiastic participation. This, he said, was a clear indication that the people of J&K have rejected Pakistan’s false narrative and have embraced democracy and development.
Gupta urged Pakistan to stop spreading misinformation, end state-sponsored terrorism, and focus on resolving its internal problems. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to ensuring peace, prosperity, and progress in J&K. Concluding his address, he stated that Pakistan’s repeated attempts to mislead the world will continue to fail, as J&K remains an inseparable part of India.
