BJP serves show cause notice to 5 Councilors of Kathua

JAMMU, July 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has served show cause notice to five Councilors of Kathua Municipal Council who had signed the No Trust Motion against president, Kathua Municipal Council, Naresh Sharma and its vice president Rekha Mahajan on July 12.
The notice was served by party’s three member Disciplinary Committee headed by Party’s chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi, Virender Jeet Singh and N D Rajwal its other members.
The five members whom the show cause notice was served included Anirudh Sharma Municipal Councilor W.No. 7, Bhopinder Raj, Municipal Councilor W.No 14, Ravinder Pathania, Municipal Councilor W.No 20, Karan Singh Municipal Councilor W.No 11 and Joginder Pal Municipal Councilor W.No 17 Kathua Municipal Committee.
The show cause notice reads“Disciplinary Committee of Bhartiya Janata Party Jammu and Kashmir has been directed by party president to initiate disciplinary proceedings against you for act of gross indiscipline by moving No Confidence Motion against party elected representatives in Municipal Committee Kathua”.
“You are directed to submit your reply within four days to Disciplinary Committee as to why you shouldn’t be expelled from primary membership of Bhartiya Janata Party for this act of indiscipline,. You are also directed to immediately withdraw yourself from No Confidence Motion before submitting reply to show cause notice”.
In their No Trust Motion submitted to DC Kathua the 12 councilors five of BJP, four independents and three of Congress had leveled serious allegations against both its president and vice president and accused them of working in arbitrary manner without taking the members into confidence.
It is for the second time in last one year that No Trust Motion has been moved against the president and vice president of Municipal Council Kathua.
