JAMMU, Oct 24: J&K BJP today remembered Pt. Prem Nath Dogra on his birth anniversary at a function held Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Chowk, here.
BJP leaders also performed Havan and afterwards garlanded the statue of Sher-e-Duggar, besides paying rich tributes to him on the occasion.

J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina accompanied by Union Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, J&K BJP Seh-Prabhari, Ashish Sood, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, former Minister, Sat Sharma, general secretary (Org.), Ashok Kaul, Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta, former Minister, Abdul Ghani Kohli, vice-president, Yudhvir Sethi, Priya Sethi, Vikram Randhawa, chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi, Purnima Sharma and senior party leaders paid warm tributes to the great leader on the occasion.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing on the occasion paid warm tributes to Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and said that he sacrificed his whole life for total integration of J&K with the rest of India. He said that Pt. Ji’s credentials are unmatched and he gave true representation to the masses of Jammu & Kashmir.
He said that this great Dogra leader was a man of principles. He said that Pt. Ji remained national president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) and had a vision which not only encouraged the nationalist people across the State but also left a mark on whole of the country.
Ashish Sood said that Pt. Ji depicted life of high-grade values and spirits. He led the struggle of ”Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” very strongly as a result of which the separate post of Prime Minister was abolished in J&K and now due to dedicated leadership of BJP under PM Modi, mission has been completed with total integration of the erstwhile J&K State with India. He said that Pt. Ji left the all type of personal benefits so they he can serve the nation. “We should today pledge that we should always work for the society and nation’’, he added.
Jugal Kishore Sharma said that Pt. Ji struggled for the people along with other great leaders. He said that Pt. Ji laid down his life for Tiranga and today BJP has fulfilled his dream with the abrogation of controversial Articles 370 and 35(a). He added that he represented a strong voice of region while at the same time working for upliftment of the socio-economic status of downtrodden.
Kavinder Gupta said that Pt. Ji was a true leader of masses and was a true hero for all of us. He asked all to take pledge to work along his principles and always be ready to fight all evil forces hell bent to destroy the unity of land.
Sat Sharma said that he struggled with grit while having true sportsmanship. He worked for total integration of J&K with rest of India. He prompted all to follow the footsteps of Pt. Dogra and serve the society and nation with dedication.
Chander Mohan Sharma said that today his spirit will be more than happy with his dream come true.
Rekha Mahajan, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Rajeev Charak, Sanjita Dogra, Narayan Singh, Ayodhya Gupta, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Vinay Gupta, Munish Khajuria, Subhash Gupta, Ankush Mahajan, Jeet Angral, Brijesh Gupta and others were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) also paid tributes to late Pt. Prem Nath Dogra by garlanding his statue at Dogra Sadar Sabha, here, today.
Pt. Prem Nath Dogra was born on October, 24, 1884. He was a great legend who served the nation and humanity with the utmost dedication. He always worked for the Dogras of the area as tehsildar, Assistant Settlement officer and as Munsiff from where elevated to Secretary of Government of Jammu and Kashmir and posted as Wazir-e-Wazarat (Deputy Commissioner) at Mirpur in 1912. Pt. Prem Nath Dogra was very kind and always ready to help others at any moment. People of Jammu still remember him for his good deeds and great work for the public.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Col. Karan Singh Jamwal (vice president, DSS), Brig. M.S. Jamwal, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Ajay Khajuria, Janak Khajuria, Amanat Ali Shah, Rajinder Gupta and Dr. Vidya Sagar Sharma.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K conveyed his message highlighting good works of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra on the occasion.
