JAMMU, Jan 8: MLA from Gandhi Nagar constituency, Kavinder Gupta today said that BJP is committed to initiate steps to reorient the work culture of bureaucrats keeping in view their role in addressing people’s concerns in a polite, decent and caring manner and be the role models of good governance.”All of us will have to look at ourselves as truly public servants in our effort to change the image of the Government, change the image of ‘Babu log’ as people call us,” Gupta said while addressing people at Babliana, Gangyal, Deep Nagar.
Gupta asked the officers to “give people confidence that we are responsive to their needs, we are concerned about their problems and we will act judiciously, in a transparent manner”. He said that the concerns of the people should be addressed “in a polite, decent and very caring fashion” so that people start looking at them as a role model of good governance”.
Gupta further said that BJP-led NDA Government is for poor and bureaucrats should serve them with compassion.”We are for poor. They have many aspirations. They have given us mandate and we have to serve them and be compassionate to them”, he added. Gupta vowed to provide transparent, effective and accountable governance to the people.” The effort to usher in an era of good governance has just begun, and begun on a very promising note. An open and accountable administration is what we had promised to deliver and we will do so,” Gupta said.
