JAMMU, June 3: A protest demonstration was organized by BJP at Kiryani Talab in Narwal area against the scarcity of drinking water in the area.
A large number of locals participated in the protest which was organized under the leadership of BJP leader Vikram Randhawa. The protestors shouting slogans against the PHE authorities for their failure in supplying drinking water to the area warned to intensify agitation in case the problem was not solved immediately.
They said that area is facing water scarcity for last 22 days in this scorching heat.
Addressing the gathering Mr Randhawa criticized the Government for its failure in restoring water supply to the area which has added to the woes of the people. He said that the people are facing both power and water crisis in the area and urged the authorities to better the same with out further delay.
He gave 24 hour ultimatum to Government failing which the people will launch indefinite agitation.
