DANSAL (CHURTA), July 3: National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today said that though the longing of people for elected Government will never end yet the nightmarish 3-year misrule of the PDP-BJP alliance has shattered their faith in their elected representatives which makes them look to the Governor’s administration for filling up the administrative vacuum.
“The failed PDP-BJP Government has left a trail of problems that need to get resolved but nonetheless we must continue to restore hope and a sense of confidence among the people with regard to development, delivery system and regulated functioning of various utility services so that democracy may once again steer the state to peace and tranquillity”, Rana said while interacting with party workers during his extensive tour of Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
Referring to peculiar problems of the Jammu region, the Provincial President said that naivety in governance, lack of experience and self-centric approach of the BJP has caused huge despair and disenchantment among Jammuties. “The lost faith in the administration is needed to be restored, for which the Governor’s administration will have to take elaborate measures on developmental front in particular”, he said.
The Provincial President called for the performance audit of various wings of the administration, especially the developmental departments so that the huge gap created by the previous dispensation is bridged. In this context, he sought effective monitoring mechanisms to ensure time-bound completion of various projects, ensuring regulated power and drinking water supply, improving and upgrading road network, restoration of civic amenities, replenishing of standard rations at sale-outlets across the Jammu region and putting in place a contingency plan for ensuing monsoon based on the past years experience.
He also sought timely release of funds for various schemes, release of wages, addressing to the demands of striking employees like Anganwadi workers and helpers, payment of salaries with arrears to SPA teachers and most importantly regularizing the daily rated workers and adhoc appointees. He blamed the PDP and the BJP for delaying this process with an eye to make the suffering segments of employees and daily-wagers as their electoral fodder in 2019 and then in the assembly elections.
MLA Nagrota earlier recognized the two young men Kishore Kumar and Subash Chander resident of Churta for the bravery, courage and valour. He awarded them rupees twenty five thousand each out of his salary and promised to take up their case for a State Award for their role to risk their lives for saving three precious lives of young girls who got washed away during flash floods. Recently in a flash flood six teenage girls were washed away and unfortunately three girls died and the three could be rescued only because of exemplary courage shown by the duo.
