JAMMU, July 6: Observing the day as “Balidan Diwas” the Jammu & Kashmir BJP fondly commemorated the birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) founder Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here, today.
Paying rich floral tribute to the stalwart, party leaders recalled Mookherjee’s contribution in the integration of nation among his other works.
BJP national general secretary, Tarun Chugh, J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former president and former MP, Shamsher Singh Manhas, general secretary (Org.), Ashok Koul, former president and former Minister, Sat Sharma and others paid tribute on the occasion.
“Dr Mookherjee sacrificed his life while agitating to end the permit system under which any one leaving or entering the State had to obtain a permit, a practice which did not exist in any other State of the country,” said Tarun Chugh.
Ravinder Raina  said it was the sacrifices of Mookherjee that Jammu and Kashmir was fully integrated with rest of the country and it was considered as one of the great step for the national interest.
Jugal Kishore Sharma said that he lived and laid down his life for the integrity of the country for which the entire country is indebted to him.
Ashok Koul threw light on the life and important works of Dr.Mookherjee.
