JAMMU, Mar 20: State BJP today remembered Sher-e-Duggar, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra on his death anniversary.
BJP State president & MLA, Sat Sharma (C.A) paid floral tributes to the great leader along with State vice-president Parmod Kapahi, State general secretary Pawan Khajuria and other senior party leaders at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.
Sat Sharma, while remembering the services of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra said that he was always on the forefront to raise voice for the rights of the downtrodden and the suppressed.
He said that the Pandit Ji became a symbol of simplicity who made an impression in the hearts of the common masses with his deeds. Pandit Ji did an unmatched work for the unity of the State with the rest of country in true sense.
While leading the Praja Parishad agitation with the slogan of “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” he marked an uprising for the common population of the region. He narrated the events which took Dogra Ji to such a high position that he came to be called as “Sher-e-Duggar”. He further said that the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is following Dogra’s footsteps for the greater good of the nation and the society.
Party general secretary, Pawan Khajuria said that the whole life of Pandit Ji was dedicated for the cause and welfare of the people cutting across party lines, region, religion and caste. He said that the principles of Pandit Ji carry more significance in the present scenario of the State.
Senior BJP leader, Chander Mohan Sharma emphasized on the high morality and standards while following the great path shown by Pandit Ji. He also threw light on historical facts leading to the formation of Praja Parishad and the incidents afterwards.
Naresh Dogra another party leader said that Pandit Ji during his life was equally respected by his opponents as well. He said that Pandit Ji will always remain a source of inspiration to all the generations.
State secretary, Sanjay Baru, Sunil Gupta, MLA Dr. D. K. Manyal, Munish Sharma, Varinderjit Singh, Jaidev Rajwal, Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra, Purnima Sharma, Kulbhushan Mohtra, Tilak Raj Gupta, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Vikas Choudhary, Rajkumar and others were among the prominent BJP leaders who paid floral tributes to the great leader.
