JAMMU, June 17: A high-level Fact-Finding Committee framed by State Bharatiya Janata Party, (BJP) headed by Justice (retd) G D Sharma to probe the Leh corruption charges has submitted its final report to the party.
The BJP in a handout issued here today said that the three member Fact Finding Committee was constituted on the directives of party national president and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to investigate the matter. It was headed by Justice (retd) G D Sharma with IGP (retd) S S Bijral and Dr Pallav as other members. The Committee submitted its report to party national vice president and incharge J&K Avinash Rai Khanna today.
Khanna will handover the report to party chief and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah for further action in this regard.
Khanna, said that the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is committed to fight the menace of corruption tooth and nail and any such type of activity by any of our party leader or worker as alleged by any person is sure to come under party scanner.
He informed that the Committee headed by Justice (Retd.) G. D. Sharma visited the spot in Leh to have first-hand information of all ground facts and has finally submitted the report.
Khanna, added that within a record time the Committee has completed its probe by talking to every concerned person like civil and police administration as well as all prominent persons concerned. Committee cross-examined all the facts and persons concerned like Leh, Press Club members and BJP leaders before drafting its final report.
The party handout said few local media persons from Press Club, Leh made baseless accusations after the days of press conference conducted by BJP leaders on May 2 this year against the party president, Ravinder Raina and BJP incharge Ladakh, Vikram Randhawa of bribing the journalists. While other media persons denied occurrence of any such episode, the BJP leaders also outrightly rejected any such misconduct on their part, the party added.
