JAMMU, Jan 17: Two delegations one of BJP displaced district led by G L Raina, MLC and another of NC Minority Cell led by M K Yogi its president today called on Relief authorities and discussed the migrants problems with them.
The displaced district president, Chand Ji Bhat was also accompanying Raina along with Vimal Raina, Babita Kour and Kamal Warikoo.
The delegation, which called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, M L Raina discussed the various problems of migrants with him. The delegation demanded Sadhbhawna yatra for migrant students, community hall and zonal office of Relief Department be established at Durga Nagar, Bantalab, sufficient accommodation with Government migrant schools at Bantalab and Bohri, allotment of shops and quarters and permanent solution to water scarcity problem at Jagti.
It also demanded that the revenue generated by the community halls be invested for the same and also demanded renovation of quarters and settlement of the other demands.
The delegation of NC Cell called on DC Relief K K Sidha and demanded allotment of shops, renovation of flats, fencing of parks, street lights, advance cheques of relief and ration be given on the eve of Maha Shivratri, making arrangements of walnuts and other essential commodities on Maha Shivratri, black topping of Kole Kandoli to Jagti road, full benefits of cash assistance and ration, passenger sheds and boundary walls at Jagti and timely issuance of ration and relief to avoid sufferings of migrants.
B K Bhat, Amit Koul, T K Koul, P L Pandita, M J Tickoo, Anjali Bhat and Neelam Koul and others were also part of delegation.
Meanwhile, Rashtriya Krantikari Samajwadi Party, organization general secretary Manuji Sapru has expressed deep concern over the delay in release of ration and relief to migrants and demanded that same be released without delay. He also demanded that the disposal of two ex-gratia cases pending with DC Anantnag since 1998.
