BJP MLAs’ concern over withdrawal of security forces

JAMMU, Mar 22: MLA Bani, Jeewan Lal today called on Union Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh and expressed his concern over the withdrawal of security forces from remote areas of Bani.
The MLA said that people in these localities feel scared and were forced to migrate for their security.  Questioning the withdrawal of security forces from the area he said people are in panic and they apprehend any catastrophe in the insecure environment.
Mr Lal said it is unfortunate that even after the two major terrorist attacks during two consecutive days in Kathua and Samba districts the Government has removed the security forces from inaccessible and remote areas of Bani where the threat of militants looms large.
He appealed Dr Singh to take up the issue with Union Home Minister and Defence Minister. He demanded redeployment of forces in those areas wherefrom it has been withdrawn.
Meanwhile BJP general secretary and MLA Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia in a statement said that withdrawal of security forces and revocation of AFSPA is fraught with serious consequences in view of the two Fidayeen attacks in Kathua and Samba districts during past two days. He said under the prevailing circumstances no decision on withdrawal of AFSPA should be taken in haste.
